I was very young when Mod Squad first aired. But I remember it on ABC every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m., fairly early in the evening for a show of its kind. My bedtime was 9:00. In junior high/high school, the show was in syndication during the late afternoons. That's when I paid special attention to Pete...I was enchanted, and was always drawn to the episodes that centered around his character. I especially remember the cold openings before the urgent Mod Squad theme trumpets blared.
A Mod Squad drought followed. It wasn't until I was in my 50s that I would see an episode again. After buying the complete five-season disc set, I fell in love with the episodes I remembered, the episodes I forgot, and the actor who sparked my interest so many years ago.
Not too long after, I was given the opportunity to meet Michael. And he was kind, personal and gracious. He stirred many a heart that day, and he inspired me to add to my already significant photo and magazine collection.
So this will be the place where I celebrate the nostalgia, the photos, and memories of the actor who added and continues to add a lot of color to my life.
